"It will feel better, when it quits hurting"Tom Huden
Thomas J. Huden entered into the gentle and loving rest of the Lord on March 20, 2013. Tom was born to Louise and Tom Huden on Dec.26,1955. The last born of 5 children (Teresa, Ronald, Jill, Glenn) with the family residing in the big house on 8th avenue that served as the center for all family functions for 50+ years. Growing up in Ballard and his thorough knowledge of Seattle made him a friend and a favorite in all regions of the city. Tom attended Whittier, James Monroe, and Ballard High School. His gregarious nature made him an easy friend and he carried his hilarious personality far to all who knew him.
Tom worked around the Puget Sound region his whole life serving employment at Covich/Williams Co., Adams News, Community Transit, and his last job and one that filled him with pride at Sound Transit. In the mid 1970’s Tom enlisted in the National Guard and served 12 years in defense of his country. Also, at this time Tom met a petite young lady named Julie Buzzelle and they’re courtship bloomed to marriage and what became a large family of their own with 4 children. His work ethic and friendly demeanor made him the guy to count on with co-workers and employers. He was “the guy” you called when you were stuck along the side of the road with the flat tire; he was the guy you called when you needed “that” special tool to fix your garage door. Any favor, any time, that was Tom, all done with a laugh and a smile. He loved diesel engines, Husky games, and finding excellent food in out of the way, off the beaten path locales around the region.
What started in the 1960’s and lasted to this writing, Tom was a founding member of what became a group of friends known as “the Ballard Boys” sharing their times of little league baseball, husky games, rock concerts, expanding families, and just hanging out. He will be missed tremendously and his times and stories will be told to many of “the boys” grandchildren in the decades to come, as he will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his “Grande Familia” whose count is in the hundreds. His wife of 35 years, Julie; children: Krissy Mitchell, Tom Jr., Stephani Eggehorn and Jacque Miller; grandchildren:Rylee 11, Jayson 9, Kaylee 7, Khloee 1 (Children of Krissy and Jeff Mitchell), Hope (due to be born to Stephani and Barry Eggehorn in July) and many, many nieces and nephews and extended family that will miss him much.
A Memorial service will be held at Philadelphia Church May 18, 2013 at 2:30 pm. 7704 24th Ave NW Seattle, WA 98117

My condolences to the entire Huden family. I personaly did not know Tom (or Glenn either), but Ron and I have been friends since kindergarten, at Whittier; and I know Teresa and Jill to a lesser extent. And, of course, their very wonderful late mother, "Mrs Huden" (as I always addressed her). So, as Tom was member of that family, it is a given that he also was a wonderul person, who left much too early, and who will be greatly missed by all whose life he touched. God's blessings on all of you.
Sincerely,
John Bugge

Glen called me this evening and told me about Tom. I'm so sorry for your loss. We talked about some of the great memories that we, (Tom, Glen and I) had at Summer Camp through the years in Guards. I remember Tom as having a great sense of humor and we created a lot of mischief together as I recall. Tom, I'm sorry I put that ball of soapy hair in your soap dish so you'd gak! Your brother put me up to it. I have a scrape book that I inherited from another fallen Guard brother that has some pictures in it. I'll see if I can dig it up and scan a couple of the pics in it.
